Would be a home run hire. From a recruiting perspective, just in terms of ties with prospects it is most definitely an upgrade over a very good Coach Frazier. I dont think he will have any problem getting out on the road recruiting, but that would be the only unknown.

I'd also very much be ok with VT transitioning from MY to MJ when MY decides to hang it up. He is a very solid coach with a great coaching background. So he will also be able to bring a good perspective to the room in adding something to the Xs and Os and philosophical discussions.

If it gets done, kudos to MY for pulling it off. Not many coaches would be secure enough in themselves and their job to bring on a Team USA coach and a power player in the DC/Maryland region to be their assistant. Especially so late in their career.

Hopefully Whit is prepared to make the deal competitive with any other top assistant in the ACC. I might even try to double dip in DC/Maryland with Jamal Brunt if Webster were to leave. That would be a strong staff both recruiting and Xs and Os
